The Hawks started the contest well against sister-school Santa Ana College.
Despite dominating possession for long periods, Santiago Canyon couldn't find the goal-scoring touch after Alyssa Rubio converted a rebound, following good work from Summer Stewart. Kylee Medlin doubled the lead just before the break, converting from a fine serve by Karson Hauck. SCC effectively sealed the contest early in the second period with a fine drive from Cassie Lewis to put the Hawks up 3-0. Goals from Camryn Toole, Courtney Carbajal (pictured), Nikki Marino and Ally Gorsha rounded out the scoring against the hard-working visitors. Faith Huston, Kaitlyn Aguayo, and Zaydee Solis shared the shut-out in goal.
Up next for the Hawks is a visit to Saddleback College for a 3pm kick-off on Friday, October 8th.
