De Armas’ Triple-Double Leads Hawks Past Pirates
The Santiago Canyon College men's basketball team secured its first halftime lead of conference play on Friday night and never looked back, defeating one-win Orange Coast College 98–76 at home. Freshman Jacob De Armas powered the victory with his first career triple-double.
De Armas continued to cement himself as one of the conference's most versatile offensive threats. He extended his double-digit scoring streak to nine straight games and finished with 13 assists and 10 rebounds to complete his milestone performance. He shot 5-for-8 from the field, including two emphatic dunks.
Sophomore Ryan Weber delivered a career night of his own, pouring in 22 points—his first time breaking the 20-point mark since mid-December—while adding five rebounds and a steal. Freshman sharpshooter Dominic Bolton drained six three-pointers en route to a career-best 20 points.
Sophomore Salim Semaan nearly surpassed his personal scoring high as well, finishing with 21 points along with five rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
