Men’s Basketball Claims Fifth Straight Win
The Santiago Canyon College men's basketball team continued its dominant non-conference run with a 76–50 victory over Cerro Coso on the final day of the Pasadena City College Tournament, extending the Hawks' winning streak to five games.
SCC was outstanding on offense, shooting 52.9 percent from the field, including an impressive 54.2 percent from beyond the arc. The Hawks also controlled the glass and forced Cerro Coso into 15 turnovers, converting those mistakes into 21 points.
Leading the charge was sophomore center Ryan Weber, who poured in a career-high 21 points in just 20 minutes. He shot 8-for-11 from the floor and a perfect 3-for-3 from deep. It marked his second double-digit scoring performance of the season.
Sophomores Salim Semaan and Chico Lopez combined for 24 points, each contributing 12. Semaan did his damage as a starter, while Lopez provided a spark off the bench.
Freshman point guard Jacob De Armas flirted with a double-double, finishing with eight points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Freshman Dominic Bolton added eight points off the bench, including two three-pointers, and freshman Matt Mendias contributed seven points, five rebounds, and two assists to round out the stat sheet.
