Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Palomar
The Santiago Canyon College men's volleyball team faced off against the Palomar College Comets on Wednesday night, looking to secure its second win of the season. Six players recorded at least one kill as the Hawks earned a straight-set sweep over the Comets, winning 27-25, 25-20 and 25-17.
Freshman Jack Frame, who leads the Hawks' offensive attack, hammered home a match-high 17 kills while hitting .462. It marked his 11th consecutive match recording double-digit kills. Frame also added two service aces, four digs and four block assists, finishing with a team-high 21 points.
Freshman Brayden Payne came off the bench to record 15 kills while posting a team-best .545 hitting percentage. He also contributed four blocks at the net.
Freshmen Rodolfo Marrero-Ramos and Logan Campbell each recorded six kills while combining for 13 total blocks. Marrero-Ramos finished with a match-high seven blocks, while Campbell added five of his own.
The Hawks' offense was primarily run by freshman David Martinez, who dished out 20 assists. He was joined by fellow freshman setter Roen Forbes, who recorded 17 assists.
Sophomore Levi Florence led the back row with four digs, while freshman Logan Gaines added a kill and five blocks at the net.
