Men’s Basketball Rebounds to Rout SD Miramar
The Santiago Canyon College men's basketball team erupted for 59 second-half points against the San Diego Miramar College Jets on Friday night, securing its largest win of the season in a 95–60 rout. Four of the five Hawks starters scored in double figures to power the dominant performance.
After dropping two of their previous three games, the Hawks responded by tying their highest offensive output in a victory this season. It marked their second-highest scoring total overall, backed by a strong all-around effort.
Santiago Canyon recorded a season-high 58.5 percent shooting from the field, including an impressive 44 percent from beyond the arc. The Hawks also controlled the paint, scoring just under half of their points inside while significantly outrebounding the Jets, 47–26.
Freshman Jacob De Armas led the charge. Coming off a season-high 27-point performance in a loss to Copper Mountain, he poured in 22 points for his third consecutive game scoring in double figures. De Armas has now scored at least 15 points in six of the last seven contests.
Sophomore Ryan Weber posted a strong all-around performance with 20 points and nine rebounds, leading the team with 15 shot attempts. Freshman Dominic Bolton earned the start and contributed 19 points, while sophomore Salim Semaan added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Freshman Matt Mendias made his first career start, finishing with four assists and three points. Freshman point guard Paris Lassiter came off the bench to tally six points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 15 minutes of action.
